Internship – Post Merger Integration (PMI) Excellence (f/m/x)

PMI Excellence is a newly created team within the Strategic Corporate Development department working across all areas of the ZEISS Group (our business segments, corporate functions, and country organizations). PMI Excellence aims to be the trusted advisor and executive business partner for post-merger integration and separation activities within the ZEISS Group. The PMI team provides governance and program management support for ZEISS-wide PMI activities to enable sustainable transaction success and secure acquisition value for the ZEISS segment.

Your role

• support group-wide Post Merger Integration (PMI), divestiture, and transformation projects

• assist the Integration Management Office (IMO) with project governance, tracking, and reporting

• support the planning and execution of integration workshops, steering committees, and workstream meetings

• contribute to the development and continuous improvement of PMI methodologies, tools, templates, and playbooks

• help monitor integration progress, risks, dependencies, and synergy realization

• prepare presentations, analyses, and decision materials for management and integration leadership teams

• gain hands-on experience in complex PMI projects while collaborating with international and cross-functional teams

• already studying business administration/ economics with a focus on finance, strategic/ international management, strategy execution, etc. (completed a Bachelor and starting or already enrolled in a Masters program)

• ideally, you have gained first practical experience in project management, M&A, post-merger integration, business transformation, or management consulting.

• very good analytical skills and can think across disciplines

• an independent, accurate and reliable working style

• demonstrated a high level of initiative

• fluent in English and have strong skills in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
